After discovering loose bolts on second-row seat back frames, Tesla recalled 3,470 US Model Y cars.
According to a public filing made available on Saturday, the manufacturer filed the recall to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Monday.
The cars at risk were manufactured between May 23, 2022, and February 5, 2023.

According to the NHTSA, loose seat frame bolts may impair the performance of the seat belt system, increasing the risk of injury during a collision.
The second-row seat back frames are secured to the lower seat frame with four bolts per seat back, according to Tesla's filing, and one or more of the bolts "may not have been torqued to specs."
Tesla stated in the recall report that the problem could be identified if the second-row seat backs are not folding correctly or rattling during normal operation.
Customers who own affected models can bring them to a Tesla store or repair facility for a free inspection.
Tesla stated that it will examine the bolts that secure the second-row driver-side and passenger-side seat back frames and, if necessary, retorque them to specifications.
As of February 23, the manufacturer had identified five warranty claims submitted between December 9 and February 14 reporting recall-related conditions.
After the first claim in early December, Tesla said it enhanced process controls and training and supervision to torque bolts to specifications. Tesla reported no linked injuries or deaths.
