Snickerdoodle Recipe without Cream of Tartar

Wonderful and easy Snickerdoodles without Cream of Tartar. Snickerdoodles without cream of tartar are soft, chewy, buttery, and cinnamon sugar-coated.

Snickerdoodle Topping – ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar – 2 tsp (6 g) ground cinnamon Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough – 2½ cups (300 g) all purpose flour – 2 tsp (12 g) baking powder – 2 tsp (5 g) cornstarch – 1 tsp (3 g) ground cinnamon – ½ tsp salt – 1 cup (226 g) unsalted butter, softened but still cool to the touch – 1¼ cup (250 g) granulated sugar – 1 large egg (US), room temperature – 1 large egg yolk (US), room temperature – 2 tsp (10 ml) vanilla extract

Adjust oven temperature to 375 F (190 C). Apply parchment paper to the edges of two large baking sheets.

Mix the ground cinnamon and granulated sugar in a small mixing dish until thoroughly blended.

Mix the flour, baking powder, cornstarch, powdered cinnamon, and salt thoroughly in a mixing dish.

Medium-speed A large bowl or stand mixer should cream butter and sugar. 2–3 min. Bowl and sides brush. Slowly mix egg, yolk, and vanilla. Scrape bowl sides.

Mix dry ingredients by hand or on low until barely combined. Clean bowl edges and bottom. Briefly mix the dough to include stray or moist ingredients.

A medium scooper holds 2 tsp (30 ml) cookie dough. Cinnamon-sugar balls. On pans, place cinnamon-sugar-coated snickerdoodle cookie dough balls 3 inches apart.

Snickerdoodles bake 8–10 minutes. Gold-edges. The puff core's top breaks. After 5 minutes, remove snickerdoodles from hot baking sheet to rack.
