Apple Cider Chicken Wings Recipe


The apple cider sauce on these simple baked chicken wings makes them the coziest fall dinner.



– 2 ½ lbs. chicken wings – 1 Tbsp baking powder – ½ tsp paprika – ½ tsp garlic powder – ¾ tsp salt, divided – ¾ tsp pepper, divided – 2 cups apple cider – ¼ cup apple cider vinegar – 2 Tbsp honey – ¼ tsp cinnamon – Apple slices, for garnish – Chopped chives or scallions, for garnish


Bake at 450°F with foil-lined baking sheet and wire rack. Spray rack lightly with cooking spray.


Step 1

Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels. Put in big bowl.In a small bowl, combine baking powder, paprika, ½ tsp salt, and ½ tsp pepper.


Step 2

Coat chicken wings with baking powder.Leave space between wings on wire rack. Bake 30 minutes. 


Step 3

Remove wings from oven and flip with tongs. Heat oven for 15-20 minutes more to brown and crisp wings.


Step 4

While wings bake, heat apple cider, vinegar, and honey in a medium saucepan on medium-high. 


Step 5

Stir in cinnamon, remaining ¼ tsp salt, and ¼ tsp pepper, then boil. Once boiling, reduce heat and simmer 25 minutes to thicken sauce.


Step 6

Place chicken wings in large bowl after baking. Add apple cider sauce and toss. Serve wings on platter with bowl sauce. Add chives/scallions and apple slices.
